How I became the New Conservative

Dear Reader and Subscriber:

I am happy to start a new blog as I trod along the path of resurrecting principled conservative ideas in a climate where conservatives began to mistrust their elected Republican or Conservative Independent/Democrat leaders.

I was born into a family that had born again christian values. I have four licensed ministers in my family. I have a public/private education. I graduated from College on my own dime(thanks dad), and I am a taxpaying American that feels that my government is leaving me behind.

I erected the Jacksonville state University College Republicans. While there I was elected the State Treasurer and later Financial Director. I worked in the campaigns as a volunteer for Bob Barr, Phil Gingrey, Mike Roger(AL), Bob Reilly, Casey Cagle, Preston Smith, Tony Turner (Dad) and so on.....
I feel the GOP started leaving me before the Bush Presidency. I began to get involved in GOP campaigns and I quickly learned that I felt like a stranger in the GOP meetings. People were speaking about low taxes and pro-life issues. These people were talking but not walking the walk. After serving in the local party, I decided to take a hiatus after the horrible campaign of John McCain and the horrible consistency of Republicans rubber stamping spending bills, trampling the Bil of Rights, and considering me an enemy of the party.

Oh how far the GOP has gone to be "Popular" and not "Principled"..........

Now I am an independent conservative writer. I pray that whatever I may say be used as an instrument of goodness and light to Gods glory.

Enjoy!

Stephan

  1. Being a fellow Young Republican (not in many years), a raised Southern-Baptist, and having a step-father as president of the AL Executive GOP back in the 90s, I too have felt incredibly jilted and jaded from our current situation. Americans are being disgraced on a daily basis and the principles that our Constitution was fought for and founded on are being forgotten. Thank you for starting this blog. I look forward to reading your posts. I have always respected your ideas, opinions, shared articles, and discussions on steps we should take to move out of the limelight of our elders and start to shape ourselves and our views. I am sincerely proud of you for this. I hope that you call us all out, and not hold anything back! Have a great weekend! -Shanna
P.S. - You are not an enemy. You are an enlightened mind and soul and you will convince the doubters. (My own mother called me an enemy last night. I am just trying to find truth in this chaos and understand what ground these parties are standing on.)
